Located in the "Great North Woods" area of New England, the North Country offers wide open spaces, natural scenic beauty and tremendous opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast, from the avid fisherman and hunter, to the golfer, photographer, bicyclist, hiker, canoeist and small boat owner.
Colebrooke-Town (Colebrook) was granted to Sir George Colebrooke on December 1, 1770.
Mission Statement: “To promote the enhancement of the unique physical, economic, historical, and cultural, aspects of the downtown area of Colebrook, New Hampshire.”
 
The Pittsburg Angels are a much needed and new service orientated organization recently formed in Pittsburg to assist the residents of Northern Coos County in their daily life struggles.

The Pittsburg Angels Charitable Services established their organization to fill a large gap in access to services in the North Country.

The “Angels”, whose start-up efforts are sponsored by the Upper Connecticut Valley Community Coalition, are a human service organization providing local access to resources and services.

"North Country Council is the Regional Planning Commission for Northern NH, providing their member communities with services in the areas of Community, Regional, Transportation and Natural Resource Planning, Economic Development and Grantwriting assistance."
The Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains, which serves both New Hampshire and Vermont, encourage girls ages 5-17 to develop their leadership potential through activities that enable them to discover their values, skills and world around them; connect with others; and to take action to make a difference in their community and their world.
These steps are achieved with assistance from adult volunteers who help them develop qualities that will serve them all of their lives.

The "Annual Great North Woods Ride-in" gives the Motorcyclist a chance to relax, have fun and enjoy our spectacular region. Please join us for this wonderful and unique event. Make it your own personal getaway.
The Swift has approximately 120 miles of the most prestine trails in the North Country. We also have a new warming hut located on trails 5 & 18 which, serves food on the weekends. Also for your convience we have credit card gas pumps which, are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
The Colebrook Ski-Bees currently groom 147 miles of multi-use winter trails. Centrally located in one of the most scenic and diversified riding areas in Northern New Hampshire. Come check us out. "Join where you ride."

The Poore Family Homestead Historic Farm Museum and grounds are open for public interpretation from June through to September, hosting a variety of cultural events, concerts and social gatherings.
The Museum is a historic homestead / settlement documenting one families life from the 1830's to the 1980s. The house, barns and outbuildings are all in original condition and reflect their use and era. The feeling one gets when you enter the homestead is to walk back in time, to a time that existed prior to rural electrification of the northern most regions of NH.

The 45th Parallel EMS is the only non-profit regional ambulance service in the state of New Hampshire. We are located in the Great North Woods. The 45th covers five towns in New Hampshire and four towns in Vermont. We get an average of 1,000 calls per year which include:

ATV Accidents
Motorcycle Accidents
Snowmobile Accidents
Fire Stand Bys
Medical Transfers
The 45th is comprised of 6 full time EMT's with and 6 intermediates. We also have 22 per diem responders and a chief who all play a vital role in keeping us operational.
