Selectmen’s Minutes

July 25, 2005

Members Present: Frank Dumaine, and Larry Rappaport.

Others: Donna Caron, Heidi Lawton, Claire Knapper, Donna Jordan, Kevin McKinnon, and Clifton Boudle Sr.

Clifton Boudle Sr. came in to say that he does not want to pay his water shut-off and turn on fee, that he got billed for.  He would like to put meters on all of the trailers in his park.  He asked Kevin how much a meter cost.  Kevin said about $120.00 dollars each.  Kevin said that each trailer could have a meter but the Town would still read the master meter at the front of the park.  Stubby says that he will not pay his bill for the water turn-on/shut-off fee.  Donna said that is fine, but it will go to lien.

Kevin asked Larry if he was going to have anytime with the governor?  Larry said that yes, he would.  Kevin asked Larry if he could talk to him about (approvals for construction) that we get from the State.  Larry said that before he talked to the Governor he would talk to Commissioner Nolan.

Donna talked to Dave Deagler about the burn permit for DES.  Dave told Donna that she could get a permit from John Acardi or Bert VonDorman.

Donna would like to have an informational meeting for the residents of Titus Hill.  She would like it at our next Selectmen’s meeting on August 8th.  Heidi will send out letters to the residents.

Larry can’t go to the Planning Board meeting tomorrow; they will be discussing dimensions for people having temporary signs, but he has suggested having certain dimensions for temporary signs.

The Selectmen read the fuel bids for the winter fuel.  The bids were as follows:

C.N. Brown $1.839 per gallon for fuel oil. $1.299 per gallon for propane.

Rymes $1.92 per gallon for fuel oil. $1.28 per gallon for propane.

Lewis Oil and Nugent’s did not bid this year.  The Selectmen decided to go with C.N. Brown for the winter fuel and Rymes for the propane.

Donna mentioned to the Selectmen that Sue Miller would like a sign put up at Spring Street to not allow tractor trailers on that street.  Larry would like to discuss it with Greg.

John Shatney would like a one-hour parking sign put back up in front of his house.  Larry would like to wait to talk to Greg.  Steve would like to enforce this issue but would like the Selectmen to back them.

Donna explained to the Selectmen that there may be a flu clinic in Colebrook.  Selectmen said they had no problem with that.

Larry made a motion to approve the June 20 & July 11 minutes, with one change to the June 20th minutes, Frank seconded, motion approved.

Frank asked if anyone knew anything about if there were grants to buy utilities from Homeland Security.  Donna and Heidi said they would look into this.

Larry made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Frank seconded the motion, motion passed, meeting adjourned.

Respectfully submitted,

Heidi Lawton
