Selectmen’s Meeting
July 26, 2004
Members Present: Larry Rappaport, Greg Placy, and Frank Dumaine.
Others: Donna Caron, Heidi Lawton, Claire Knapper, Donna Jordan, and Beno Lamontagne.
The Selectmen decided that there was no need for a public information meeting on the Columbia/Colebrook Federal Resurfacing Project.
Larry showed the board a Purchase and Sales agreement on Paul Nugent’s house on 4 Bridge Street.
Larry showed the board a memo from Chief Steve Cass regarding the Nash/Prime dispute.
Greg made a motion to give Sheila a copy of the Attorney General’s voting area infractions to review for those that need to be looked at, Frank seconded the motion, motion passed.
Selectmen signed all vouchers and manifests.
Third Rail came last week and they did not finish everything, they will come up again next week.
There were four crushing bids for the Selectmen to review:
Cloutier Sand & Gravel
Laurent Rancourt
Clark Jeffers
Granite State Minerals
The Selectmen decided to wait on the winter sand bids until Kevin came back from vacation.
Greg made a motion to go with Laurent Rancourt for the 1 inch gravel. Larry seconded it, motion passed.
The court case for Northwood’s Truck stop will be October 4th at 1:30pm. A Selectmen or Planning Board member should be there.
Beno wanted to know if the town was thinking of putting in a sidewalk in front of the Williams Building. Donna said that it might be part of the site plan for AB’s lot, or for someone new buying that land. If the CDDA would like the town to do it, the town would need to appropriate money for next year, there is no money for this year. Donna told Beno to give her a letter and call her in December to remind her.
The Selectmen voted on the minutes from May 24, June 14, June 28, July 8, and July 12. Frank made a motion to accept all of the minutes, Larry seconded the motion, Greg agreed, motion passed.
Larry mentioned that he got a phone call with someone telling him that we could get the grader parts from a company named Transpro Inc. out of New Haven, Connecticut. Right now the grader is being fixed in Canada. Frank was given a name of Rodney White, a mechanic that could fix the leak for the grader.
Larry received a phone call from somebody asking why Robert Shaw’s land was assessed so low. He is assessed lower than anyone in the town. Donna will ask David Woodward about it.
The Selectmen mentioned that we should find out soon about Aldrich Road, they would like Donna to call Cowan and get something in writing ASAP!
Donna talked to the Selectmen about the curbing up by the Elementary School. She talked to Greg about it and he will get back to Donna on the granite.
Greg made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Frank seconded, motion passed.
