Selectmen’s Minutes

Selectmen’s Meeting
July 8, 2004

Members Present: Larry Rappaport, Greg Placy, and Frank Dumaine.

Others Present: Donna Caron, Heidi Lawton, Donna Jordan, Claire Knapper, Marsha Biron, James Biron, Brett Brooks, Donny & Janice Knapp, Chief Steve Cass, Bud Hulse, Tracy Wright, Helen & Mike Andolina, Rick Collins, Kevin McKinnon, Frances Haynes, Bernie & Lillian Hicks, Melissa Shaw, Mark Dillon, Marie Gorman, Russell Fuller, Judy Houghton, Bill Brooks, Earl Clifford, Eric Marsh, Fred Miller, Alicia Boire, and Sean Goodwin from 911.

The Selectmen discussed the two sections of Route 3 that needed to be renamed.  The Selectmen decided that the two sections of Route 3 would go back to the Trooper’s names and Main Street would stay Main Street.

The small section of road after Ippolito’s is not maintained during the winter, so a sign should be put up with numbers listed as to what houses you could get to from one side or the other.

Greg made a motion to have the residents of Sunset Drive and Gifford Lane come to Monday’s Selectmen’s Meeting to discuss the street names.  Frank seconded it.

The Selectmen discussed keeping or changing 911 in town.  Chief Steve Cass discussed how the town needed it.  His officers are not from around here, they don’t know everyone in town.  Greg made a motion to go with 911 with the changes and additions as of tonight.  Frank seconded it, motion passed.

Colebrook Feeds will be mapped as Colby Street; it was mapped wrong in the beginning as Depot Street.  The Selectmen agreed that it should be mapped as Colby Street.  Greg made a motion to let it be mapped on Colby Street, Frank seconded it.  Motion passed.

Mark Dillon wanted the Selectmen to know that he is for the change.  He has put a lot of time and money into changing his address.

Bud Hulse is saying that the town is going against the law, so as Trustee of Trust Funds he can put money into different accounts and it is okay.  The Selectmen said no, it is not okay.  We are following the procedure that every other town in New Hampshire followed when they went through the 911 address change.

Donny Knapp wanted the Selectmen to know that he was not against the 911 changes, just the renaming of Spring Street.

All three Selectmen are in favor of School Street going back to Spring Street.  911 agreed that we could change this back; the street will just have to be re-numbered.  911 said that they will start on re-mapping the street on Friday.  They will get the new numbers to Heidi sometime next week.

Greg made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Frank seconded it, motion passed, meeting adjourned.

Respectfully submitted,

Heidi Lawton
