Phil Ducret asked the board about filling pools. The board agreed unanimously that only residents of the Town of Colebrook would be able to get their pools filled. Phil Ducret mentioned that filling the pools does not use a lot of water. He also mentioned filling other towns pools but charging them more money, the board felt that was an issue for the future and not for now. Phil Ducret also asked about filling wells and Larry Rappaport suggested that the town not fill wells if we are in drought conditions. It was agreed by the board that the Fire Department would bill for water and labor and then reimburse the town. The water will cost 2 cents a gallon. Larry Rappaport also stated that the town might install another well for the town, but Sally Wentzell stated that this would not happen this year.
Sally Wentzell told Mr.Ouins that he needs to attend the next Cemetery Meeting, which will take place on July 8th, regarding his purchasing sections of the old cemetery fence. She also told him that no decision has been made yet on what they are doing with the old fence. The Cemetery Trustees might even keep a portion of it and use it in the cemetery.
Letter to Mr. Jeffrey McIver to be signed by the board. The board decided to wait until the next Selectmen’s meeting to discuss the issue, because they would like Greg Placy to be present.
Donna Caron asked if she could have until the end of July to use her 7 vacation days from last
year before she loses them. The board approved that Donna have until the end of July to use her vacation days.
The pool committee asked for a tax break because they are a non-profit organization. The board discussed the issue, but no decision was made. The issue of how the town is going to fill the pool was also brought up, but no decision was made.
Sally Wentzell does not like the fence idea at Eddie Nash’s, Larry Rappaport stated that the fence is not going to look like it does now. The fence will be much better. Sally Wentzell stated that the cars are still in the field and hay is still in the barn. Larry stated that the trailer is still in the field also. The issue of the Stevens trailer that Eddie Nash owns was also brought up, and Sally Wentzell suggested sending the health officer up there and Larry Rappaport suggested sending a police officer up there.
Richard Clark is up for Deed again. It was suggested that his land could be a green field. There is Grant money for green fields. Sally Wentzell suggested that we start the legal process to remove Mr. Clark and his things.
