Recreation Advisory Board
December 2, 2009

Meeting Time: 5:30                      Location: Colebrook Town Hall

Attendance: Danielle Barba, Colby Ouellet, Mandi Hibbard, Melissa Shaw

  • The Thanksgiving Turkey expenditure was signed by attending members. There has been positive feedback for the donation.  There will be approxiametly 65 turkey certificates given to the Colebrook Food Pantry for December as it is the number of participants in the recreation league basketball program.  Guy will bill us for the number of turkey’s that are actually picked up at the same price as the first round.
  • The Recreation Basketball League has 2 more sessions and the kids in grades 3 & 4 will be getting letters this week explaining what travel team is and have a tentative schedule.
  • The November HOAP monthly events went very well, better than expected.  There were 20 pies for the first ever HOAP pie tasting contest and 15 participants at the pizza and bowling.  December 10th is cookie & cheer event at the Colebrook Country Club. The Holiday party will be December 18th also at the CCC
  • Letters & mailboxes will be collected on December7th and the elves will be gathering on the 11th to help out.
  • The new bigger looza has 17 participants this session.  The difference is unlimited access rather than just 30 visits.
  • The 2010 budget was discussed, the board advised that HOAP not be cut this year.  The 2009 budget was a 15% cut budget from 2008 so there are little areas to cut from.  Options be looked into are paying staff from other sources, supplies cut, grants to purchase supplies.  A draft budget will be submitted to the Town Manager.
  • It is the time of year once again to thank those that have volunteered in the past and once again look for new residents to serve on the advisory board.  A email will go out looking for interested people.
  • Due to scheduling conflicts the next meeting of the Colebrook Recreation Advisory Board will be February 3rd.
