Present: Ray Gorman, Angie Putnam, Darren McCarthy, Wayne Frizzell, Clint
Brooks, Eldonna Brooks, Mike Oulette, Joan Welsh, Lori Morann, Jean Maxwell,
Melissa Shaw

Motion made by Ray, seconded by Wayne to approve the minutes of the
previous two meetings- approved

Code of Ethics and List of Programs

Old Business

Discussion about Code of Ethics

It was decided to brainstorm what the board would like to see in a
Colebrook COE based on the reading and reviewing all the information given
to the group by Angie at the previous meeting. A list of these are attached.

Discussion about Program Possibilities-

The board listed a number of programs they would like to see as well as
what others in the community have suggested to them. This list is attached
as well.

New Business:

There was discussions on several topics not on the agenda for future
invstigation and clarity; Lower grades playing in a 5/6 league or ¾ league,
Chain of Command, Consequences, Coaching Principles class offered, Playing
time, working with Darren/Balsams regarding interns

Melissa will be plugging away at these

Grade 3 and 4 Tournament-

The booster club is willing to hand over the corner café, snack shack to
the recreation department for this tournament. Wayne Frizzell offered lots
and lots of help.

Wayne- will speak with Mr. Fothergill about the popcorn and oil

Ray- will schedule parents for the café and get donations from parents

Melissa- will get officials, clock people, and admission people

Writing a Mission Statement/Philosophy to encompass all activities,
events, sport programs

Next Meeting: March 18, 6:00pm

Agenda- finalize tournament, draft of C. O. E. , draft summer program

COLEBROOK RECREATION DEPARTMENT

C.O.E. FOR PARENTS:

Keep perspective that it is a game

The kids are not NBA players

Sideline Coaching

Positive Reinforcement on and off court

Show positive behavior

Good sportsmanship towards refs, kids, coaches during games and practices

Respect

Drug Free Environment

Know when and where to speak to coach

Understand the chain of command

C.O.E. FOR PARTICIPANTS (kids)

Remember held at a higher standard- role model for kids

Know how to speak to kids and parents and where to do it

Be fair, consistent

Have a coaching philosophy for parents re: discipline issues, playing time
to achieve the bottom of the barrel to level of the top of the barrell

Discussed that this would be informative not a mandatory signature

A mandatory signature may be a consequence Example: 1) Verbal Code to
all 2) Mandatory signature after first incident 3) Removal of offender from
activity/event
