Colebrook Energy Committee
Year Ending 2009
In 2009, the Selectboard officially named the Colebrook Energy Committee. The volunteer members appointed are: Julie Moran (Chairman), Kevin McKinnon, Larry Rappaport, Brian LaPerle, and Dick Harris.
The Colebrook Energy Committee focused primarily on the development of a biomass district heating subcommittee, referred to as the Colebrook District Heating Fact-Finding Committee (CDHFFC). Dick Harris was elected as the chairman of this subcommittee. The CDHFFC researched types of district heating systems, fuel sources and companies dealing with them. With the help of Thad Guldbranson and Tom Evans from Plymouth State University and Peter Riviere from the Coos Economic Development Corp, along with others, a request for proposal was written for a pre-feasibility study of Colebrook’s energy concerns. The firm selected to complete the study is M.E. McCormick Facilities Management Consultants. The $25,000 study is being paid for by a grant from the Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund
of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation.
The Colebrook Energy Committee also helped sponsor the second successful Colebrook Energy Expo in November. In the months ahead, it is the committee’s goal to continue to work, in conjunction with other local groups, on educational projects and other energy and environmentally related items of interest to the Selectboard and townspeople.
Should anyone have questions or wish to attend meetings, please feel free to contact the Town Offices at (603) 237-4142. minutes of our earlier meetings are located on the own website (www.colebrook-nh.com) under committees.
Respectfully Submitted,
Julie Moran
Chairman
