Members Present:  Dick Harris, Larry Rappaport, Chris Gueymard, Julie Moran


Expo Planning:  D Harris reviewed the revised list of vendors for each to contact and verify attendance and media/booth needs
        
Theme:  sustainability - need panel discussions, topics and speakers

Publicity:  Flyers to be made by Balsams - CEEC members and Balsams distribute this week.
L Whitaker to design some News ads - to go to both Colebrook papers, Berlin, Gorham, Coos County Democrat.  J Moran to do Press Releases - Sept 26, Oct 3, Oct 10, D Harris to work on Banner, All members to work on word-of-mouth.   Schools - contact local schools for energy projects, recycling, and Expo attendance - J Moran and D Harris.

Weatherization notes:  United Way contacted us  - is trying to work with CAP to get money to help winterize homes for low income qualifying families.  Program being formed - R Duschene will contact us when we need to find volunteers to help install simple weatherization items.  

Recycling - J Moran met a 6th grade teacher, spoke with K Hastings, and is working to try to do some paper recycling in schools.  Also wants to do a Transfer Station “Ambassador” Volunteer program where volunteers help residents figure out what to recycle.  Working with K McKinnon to make that happen. Also need to approach area businesses to help them work on more recyclable packaging that will be needed when PAYT goes into effect in March 09.

Biomass/District Heating:  Dr Morris Pierce at Groveton HS on Thursday night - if anyone can go.

Website:  Still not formed - we need to define ourselves and the parts of the site first. Need to figure out what will go on front page, in News section, also ut in minutes, members, links, Expo, programs…

Question:  What are other Energy Committees doing?  Julia Dundorf called and asked what we are doing, and what our focus is.  J Moran said that its’ to get the word out about Energy savings and Recycling.
