2008 January Progress Reports

January, Feburary and March 2008 PW activities

We have had an "old fashioned" winter, which looks like it may break an all-time record of the most snowfall ever recorded. The entire crew has been extremely busy plowing and sanding, cleaning streets and hydrants, and general maintenance. Using the equipment, this much causes more wear and tear with ensuing repair costs. We lost a pay loader tire, wore out, and shopped around for some used tires. New tires are $2600.00 each, which we did not budget for. Rich Norris gave me a company name in Maine; we called and got 2 used tires for $750.00. Some roads are getting narrow due to the snow banks. We would ask that people be careful driving and watch for cars entering onto the roads. With the piles of snow at driveways, neither party can see each other until they are out in the road.

SNOW's been great for business! Now we are ready for spring.
