SPRING!!

The first week we spent pushing back snow and opening up culverts. We had a crew thawing culverts for the first two weeks.

We took off the plows and wings and the plow frames from all the equipment.

The grader had two flat tires to start out the spring season and due to its age breaks down on a steady basis. We have done a lot of welding on the grader to hold things together.

The water meters were read in the first two weeks of the month. We turned on quite a few water lines for people returning from warmer climates to spend the summer here.

The Country Club meters were all put in and the water turned on so the greens can be watered.

The landfill is nearing capacity, an estimated 3 to 4 months remain to bring in trash and then we will cover it with a heavy blanket of soil. Last year we capped a portion of the site and put in gas venting wells. We will complete the gas wells this year. The treatment plant is running fine. We have pumps to pull out and clean for spring maintenance. April Hyde wrote up the Annual Report for the treatment system at a cost savings of $20,000.00 to the town.

Each and every month we also have to submit a Water Report to NH DES, a Wastewater report to NHDES and to USEPA. There is a monthly report for the landfill submitted to NHDES and a groundwater report to NHDES. We perform daily testing of the wastewater seven days a week along with drinking water.
We salvaged a $60.00 vise out of the Transfer station, a $100.00 battery charger, a $50.00 spot light, and $300.00 worth of steel.

TJ (Anthony Rossitto) painted the roller, it looks great!

Have a nice spring!
