TOWN OF COLEBROOK, NEW HAMPSHIRE CEMETERY TRUSTEES MEETING
December 16, 2003
Meeting called to order at 3:35pm by Sally S. Wentzell.
Trustees Present: Sally S. Wentzell, Jean K. Haynes, Sheldon A. Gray, and Bernie Hicks.
Minutes for October 14th, 2003 were approved at the last meeting, but the signed ones were missing so a vote again to accept them as written was taken and they were signed. The minutes from the November 18th, 2003 meeting were also approved and signed by the board members present.
Donations for cemetery fence sections have been received from Suzanne Keach, Beverly Jordan Hylwa, Eda Kelsea, and the Dave Biron Family.
Sally reported that she has written an article to be put in the town meeting warrant to establish an expendable cemetery maintenance and repair trust fund. It had been sent to DRA and they have approved it and she will send a copy to town auditors today to make sure they are satisfied with it.
Board members present worked on the 2004 cemetery budget. There are a few things that will have to be checked out for cost before final budget is approved.
Sally suggested the Trustees take pictures of the new fence and have notepaper made up with the fence on front and send each person that donated to the fund for the new fence a thank you note.
Sally has completed the Trustees report for the town report, with approval of the board.
Perley Davis brought in a second check from Edith and Joseph Dugas last week and requested to know what funds are available right now to complete the fence.
Sally requested Trustees of Trust Funds last week for the fund totals for the fence under their control. As of November 28th, 2003 there is $39,744.13 available.
Sheldon to check out cost to pave the entranceways to the fence in the cemetery paved and will report back to board.
Bernie suggested the hedge be replanted over in the area of cremation section to boundary line. Discussion on this resulted in the board feeling that the fence should be continued from where we stopped this fall to property boundary line.
The next meeting will be at 3:30pm on January 6th, 2004 in the conference room at the town hall.
The bylaws of the Town of Colebrook, NH Municipal cemeteries have been read by all trustees present and the public hearing for their adoption will be held at our next regularly scheduled meeting. Sally will put a notice in the papers.
There was no further business to come before the board at this time and a motion was made by Bernie to adjourn, and was seconded by Sheldon and the meeting was adjourned at 5:30pm.
