The Board of Selectmen are the Town assessing officials, but has elected to hire an outside firm to handle all assessing issues.
It should be noted that the Colebrook Tax Maps have been totally redone. The project utilized new, custom flown aerial photography, along with GPS technology to develop a very accurate base map. The property lines were then compiled on the base map utilizing a combination of available surveys, deed descriptions and land owner input. Although not to the accuracy level of an actual survey, the new system provides the various municipal departments with a dependable tool with far more accuracy and utility than the previous tax maps.
